Despicable Me VS Megamind

My first post about two animation film, with similar background character. Villains. Seemed like Holywood got bored with Super Heroes story and Looking for opposite things.

Just finish watching these two movies, both of them are good. And let's the review begin.

Story:
Despicable Me has a light story, no need for hard thinking. It's simple, no twisted plot and easily predictable. However it's still a unique story about criminal who then finding his other side of himself.

Same thing with Megamind, while the story has more interesting twist, though still simple. A Villain who turning to a hero after he fell in love with the girl he always kidnapped.

Megamind wins this category. More plot twist, though simple and also the story is kind more refreshing.

Visual:
I never watched the 3d version, but obviously Megamind had a better picture. More graphic to show. Despicable Me kind a little pale on visual. Just a so-so visual for me.

Characters and Voice Actor/esses
Both are great. Gru main character voiced by Steve Carell had a unique accent. I kept remembering the funny things he talked. But it's fitting with the character. Megamind had good voice also by Steve Carell, but nothing spectacular. Just a decent voice animated story. Aside from other characters, Roxanne from Megamind also has standard voice actiong. Nothing special. While 3 children from Dexpicable Me are adorable. Especially the little one. Very cute and funny

Sound/Music
The music from Megamind more hilarious and popular. It;s OST came from BAD Michael Jackson while Despicale Me from the same song title. Sound Effect and everything from Megamind are more superior. I think it's come from more budget than Despicable Me.

Fun
The genre are the same. Action-Comedy. Sadly Megamind don't have special funny moment. Everything was bland. Of course there's some good moment like..well I forgot already. But Despicable Me, truly funny. The character are fun. The bad guy (I mean the antagonist) called Vector was funny. While Titan from Megamind just a dumb man become super power guy. Nothing special.

Action
The Action from Megamind since it's involved Super Power Guy, more entertaining and exciting.

Score : 4-2

Moemorable/Emotion
Despicable Me had more emotional moment. Gru with the kid had more intimate time than Megamind with Roxane. It's more warm watching the Despicable Me

Score : 4-3

Sequel
Both had great potencial to become sequel. DEspicable Me already had one in the making. While Megamind with not so good performance may choose to invent greater franchise.

Score : 4-4

Overall Experience:
Despicable Me had more satisfaction in overal experience. Funny Character, Unique Story, Memorable Moment. I am ntt sayin Megamind is bad. But it's quite generic and having too much Holywood Style Action. Despicable Me brought new atmosphere and looked more original.
